description and characteristics
This is a B&B situated in an independent two-storey house. It is located in a central area of Padua.

Padua is one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in Europe. According to tradition, it was founded by Antenor, one of the true heroes of the Trojan War (a great philosopher and pacifist, Antenor tried to stop the war from breaking out and even during the hostilities did everything in his power to end the antagonism between Trojans and Greeks). Thus, the foundation of Padua would date to ca. 1100 B.C. This area was developed and embellished by the Paleoveneti, a pre-Latin population which is indeed ancestral to the modern inhabitants of the Veneto. Padua was an extremely important cultural/industrial centre in Roman times. During the Middle Ages, after the opening of its famous university...one of the first in the world...the city quickly became the hub of European scientific and humanistic studies. Padua is the birthplace of many great intellectuals. Saint Anthony is most frequently associated with Padua, a city which he especially loved and where he spread the message of the Gospel for some years.
